Media Preview Day

While the final touches were being made in preparation for the Scouts arrival on July 19th, the Jamboree Media team hosted 12 media outlets for a tour and taste of the Jamboree adventure.  These outlets had the opportunity to ride the Big Zip, meet key Jambo leadership and interact with the amazing Jamboree staff.  They saw the military in action, volunteers making a difference, and the dedicated work and long hours, paying off!

Some Final Thoughts Before the Youth Arrive on Wednesday

In August 2013, as the last Jamboree was finished, plans begin on the 2017 Jamboree, thanks to the our BSA Volunteer and Professional Leadership for the investment of their time, talent and treasure to make this event a reality.  This experience will be challenging, it will be hot and humid, it will be filled with adventure, it will test the strength and patience of the leaders and staff, it will be emotionally challenging, it will teach service to others, it will focus on conservation and sustainability, it will highlight the adventure side of Scouting, it will build character, it will strengthen a relationship with God, it will foster new friendships, it will be full of  fuN and fellowship and it will change lives.

As each day goes by, starting tommorow we will be steadily inching closer to the end of the Journey, a journey that has and will make us all better Scouts and Scouters.

Special thanks to the amazing team I have the honor of serving with, they make me proud to be a Scouter, and they amaze me each day of their commitment and dedication, but no surprise there, I constantly see amazing volunteers and professionals all over our great country, that are bound by their love and belief in this amazing movement, the Boy Scouts of America!

Thanks to each of them for their leadership, dedication and devotion to others.

Looking forward to seeing more old friends, getting to know my new friends and working with the greatest group of volunteers in America!!!!

God Bless and Good Scouting!
